Anna Steggerda is entering her sophomore year at University of Sioux Falls where she is studying Sports Management and Business Administration. At USF, Anna is the student manager for the USF Cougars baseball team. With the Cougars, Anna is involved in the daily activities of a college baseball team. On a daily basis, Anna is in the office with the coaches and attends the team’s practices. During the games she does the team’s’ stats such as opponent spray charts, GameChanger, and keeping book.
In Des Moines, Anna grew up with love for the game of baseball. Anna graduated from Urbandale High School in 2014 where she was involved in many things. Anna was a part of the Urbandale varsity cheerleading squad. She was on the competition team which took 2nd in state two of the three years they competed and cheered for Varsity football. Her senior year, she was a part of the Iowa Honor Squad. She also was involved in Urbandale show choir all through high school. She also managed the boys varsity track and baseball teams. Along with her school activities, she was involved in Dallas County in her 4-H group. Anna has received blue ribbons on many of her projects at the Iowa State Fair.
Anna is blessed with two older siblings who are great role models for her. She has an older brother who is studying to be a transplant surgeon in Los Angeles and an older sister who is in Law School at Drake University. Her siblings always push her to do her best and encourage her to follow her dreams.
Anna is excited to be interning with the Arvada Colts because of the endless opportunities. She looks forward to learn about all of the ins and outs that goes into a collegiate summer league. It will be a great summer of baseball!
In the future, Anna hopes to continue to work with baseball. She enjoys working with the team and being involved in the game. She would like to thank her friends and family for the love and support as she continues her journey.
Karin Maltrud is finishing up her last semester at Metropolitan State University of Denver where she will be graduating with her BS in Marketing, and a minor in International Business. As a Colorado native, Karin spent most of her time outside growing up, and quickly became a huge Colorado sports fanatic. She spent the majority of her younger years playing soccer and lacrosse, and has more recently been training in an Israeli, hybrid-version of martial arts, known as Krav Maga.
Karin works full-time as a massage spa manager, where she first discovered her love for helping others. She is an active member in the community, assisting with community events and fundraisers whenever possible. She is a classically trained vocalist, with a real passion for the arts.
Karin just got home from living in Glasgow, Scotland where she was studying abroad at the University of Strathclyde. As one of the top business schools in the world, this triple-accredited university offered her the opportunity to expand her professional horizons and work directly with huge clients such as P&G, Kellogg, and Frito-Lay.
Upon her return home from the UK, Karin was lucky enough to land the position with the Arvada Colts. She looks forward to a fantastic summer with the baseball team, and all of the invaluable experiences that the Colts organization provides.
