Colts Weekly Wrap Up: 6/25/12 – 7/1/12 thumbnail

As the month of June came to a close, the Arvada Colts continued to face stiff competition from their rivals in the Rocky Mountain Baseball League. The team began the week far from the stress of competition though as the Arvada Colts visited Coors Field on Monday for Colorado Rockies baseball. The entire organization was hand for a great time and a chance to network and promote the team on a larger stage. Everyone who attended had a great time and was able to witness the Rockies beat the Washington Nationals 4-2.

The team was scheduled to hit the road for a game against Double Days on Tuesday but the event was cancelled due the fires that continue to ravage the beautiful Colorado landscape. The Colts would like to send their thoughts and prayers to everyone currently affected by the fires. The team will be collecting donations at their remaining home games this season and everyone is encouraged to help out.

The team returned to work on Friday night for two home games against the Denver Bats and stormed through the night winning both games in dominant fashion. The final score of game one was 8-0 while game two saw another shutout, as the final score was 9-0. After the beat down on Friday, the team stood proud with a 20-7 overall season record.

The Colts hit the road again for two more games on Saturday against Walker Transmission. The Colts were able to win game one with a convincing performance. The final score was 14-2. Unfortunately the Colts lost game two 14-10. The team was able to rebound back home at Long Lake Ranch on Sunday as the team rocketed to a huge win against the Hounds. The final score was 14-10. The Colts now stand above the competition with an overall season record of 22-8.

The upcoming week will see the Colts continue their push to the postseason with several key games scheduled. The team will play a road game on Tuesday before returning home for one of the season’s most anticipated games. This Friday is Safety Night Sponsored by Personal Benefit Services Wealth Management, and is an event that can be described as a “must-see game”. The Flight For Life Helicopter will be at the game for attendees to explore and there will be exciting giveaways and promotions all night long! Fans who stop by Personal Benefit Services Wealth Management located at 17850 W 64th Avenue in Arvada can pick up a voucher for a free hot dog and bag of chips at the game. Safety Night will feature two games beginning at 5:45 p.m. and fans are encouraged to arrive early to catch all the action.

The team will conclude the week by hitting the road for an away game on Saturday before returning home for two games on Sunday against Walker Transmission at Long Lake Ranch. Game time is set for 5:45 p.m. and everyone is invited to attend.

That’s it for this edition of the weekly wrap-up from your Arvada Colts. Be sure to follow the team on Facebook for all the latest updates and giveaways all season long.
