Let the winning return! The Colts have spent the last week successfully coming back from the mid-season slump, adding in seven more wins and staying atop the Rocky Mountain Baseball League. After early week losses to the Black Bears (2nd in the league), and the Boulder Collegians (6th in league) the Colts traveled to Golden on Wednesday to play the Golden Grizz. Finding their groove again, the Colts won both games with a score of 13-3 & 8-2. After a day off, the team began their four game series against the Salina Blue Jays, celebrating Independence Day with a close 3-2 win. The following day the Colts split the double header with a rough 8-2 loss and a nail-biting 5-4 win. The Colts ended the series with an 11-0 shutout, making it their sixth shutout this season.
The last week of the regular season is already upon us, and the Colts are looking to finish the season strong with just seven games left on the schedule. They’ll begin the week with a double header on Tuesday against the Denver Cougars, at Standley Lake High School, with another game the following day against Team Colorado at Chapparal High School. Taking no days off, the Colts will head to Wheat Ridge to take on the Slammers at Everitt Middle School. Saturday is a big day for the team as they play Impact Sports, whom is just a game and a half behind the Colts as the season winds down. The game will be played at Standley Lake High School, located in Westminister, so if you’re in the area make sure to come watch – it’s sure to be a good game! The Colts end the season with two games on Sunday, at Long Lake Ranch, against the Denver Bats. These are the last two home game of the regular season, so don’t miss out on the opportunity to watch Arvada’s baseball team before they head into the playoffs.
It’s been a quick – but great – Colts season as they round up the year and get ready for playoffs.
