Time to round up the family, find that favorite baseball cap, and don’t forget the sunflower seeds because Colts season is upon us! Starting off on the right foot, the Colts won their first game last Wednesday against the Colorado Pirates with a score of 7-1. After the home opener was cancelled due to weather the Colts went on to win one game and lose another against the Slammers on Sunday, June 1st.
This is a big week for the Colts as they welcomed over 60 eager youth athletes to their yearly baseball camp. The camp started this Monday and lasts until Thursday, and is a great opportunity for the youth baseball community of Arvada, giving the kids a chance to learn from the Colts athletes’ themselves.
The Colts play this Tuesday against the Colorado Sox at D’Evelyn High School, and the game starts at 5:45. If you’re in the area make sure to check it out – the games are free to attend! Next on the schedule is the rescheduled home opener this Friday against the Boulder Collegians starting at 6:30, we’re looking forward to showing the community of Arvada what we’ve got this year – so make sure to come out and support the Colts! Rounding up the weekend is an away game on Saturday against the Slammers, and there will be plenty of baseball to watch on Sunday with a double header against the Laramie Colts at 11:00am & 1:30pm.
We’re excited for another Colts baseball season and are looking forward to sharing a successful season with the city of Arvada!
